This Automatic model can be compared to the Strom BSP or Grundfos SBA models of pumps. This pump is the ideal solution for cabins and small homes, for direct feed to frost-free hydrants/spigots, and for quick and easy drop-in-tank pumping solutions. We do not recommend using this pump or any automatic pump to supply drip irrigation systems for reasons outlined in this article.

The Springer Series Automatic Pumps Feature:

*Built-in run-dry protection (pump will shut off if it detects air in the system, and circuit will need to be manually reset once water is present)

*Internal pressure switch and flow switch detects when water is being demanded (i.e., when you open a valve) and turns pump on automatically -- no need for an external pressure switch

*No pressure tank required for installation!

*2-Wire, 115V, 60Hz thermally-protected motor

*304 Stainless Steel Housing

*1" Female NPT outlet

*Internal check valve

*Optional bottom riser to elevate the pump's intake

*Available in 1/2HP and 3/4HP (NOTE: 1/2HP is recommended for most applications -- it is tempting to "go big" with pumps, but that is not always the best choice)

This pump is ideal for small homes/cabins, and for supplying water directly from a cistern/water tank to a frost-free hydrant, spigot, or hose.

This pump is not designed to pump long distances uphill (greater than 60') because it will not be able to sense a drop in pressure at the top of the hill since the on/off controls for the pump are internal. To pump uphill, we recommend our Franklin C1 series or Springer Series Cistern Pumps with a pressure tank (locate pressure tank at the top of the hill). Also, this pump is not recommended for drip irrigation systems. Again, for that, we recommend our Franklin C1 or Springer Series Cistern Pumps with pressure tanks. Drip irrigation systems are hard on pumps (they are designed to operate with low flow and low pressure, which are the exact opposite things for which a pump is designed). To supply drip systems, a pressure tank is needed with an external switch to control the pump.
